Reservoir enters the fray with The Plenty Residences

A litmus test beckons for Reservoir as the suburb's largest apartment release becomes reality. The Plenty Residences at 830 Plenty Road has progressed to marketing, with the release of the first stage of the project's 347 dwellings across the site which sits atop the Summerhill Village Precinct.

15-17 Marriott Parade, Glen Waverley – In Planning

The corner block site at 17 Marriott Parade, Glen Waverley caused turmoil back in April last year when it sold for $4.71 million.  Adjoining site, 15 Marriott Parade was sold for $2.4 million dollars and together, these sites combined have smashed residential sales records in Monash, selling over the $7 million mark.

The site is in a prime location on a combined area of 2169 sqm corner block opposite the Ibis hotel and Monash City Council.

Architeria Architects were engaged to design apartments on this site and the brief was to create a stunning new landmark for Glen Waverley. A site like this deserves something outstanding and the result of the brief, an apartment building consisting of 63 units, is now in planning.

The architecture is prominent with its bold curves and shapes. The building materials are a blend of tinted glass, metal cladding and render. The two frames are interlocking with the roofline like a piece of modern jewellery.

Mel Gawi, Principal Architect of Architeria Architects says that the design has allowed for soft and curvy corners, enhancing the principles of Feng Shui. Further, the building is shaped as a number 8, a prosperous number, as the two curves meet in the middle to expand along the sides.

The internal courtyard allows for natural cross ventilation throughout all the apartments and creates a peaceful oasis for the residents to enjoy.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to design an apartment building of this nature” said Mel Gawi. “As the site sits on the fringe of all activity, I believe the architecture will not only blend in with the higher density buildings across the road, but be a positive contribution to Glen Waverley in general.” 

Bellenden Estate Development DISPLAY SUITE IN WHEELERS HILL

We visited last weekend the display suite for Bellenden Estate in Wheelers Hill. The physical model is now completed and it looks great. Big portion of the townhouses are already sold-out (see the red dots).

Monash Council Approves the Planning Application for Wheelers Hill Development


Monash City Council approved at its monthly meeting on 25 August 2015 our residential project of 98 apartments and townhouses at Wheelers Hill in Melbourne. Subsequently, a Notice of Decision (NOD) to Grant a Permit  was issued on 26 August 2015.

Architeria Architects led by Principal Architect Mel Gawi, were engaged by Ouson group in early September 2014 to submit a planning application for 44 apartments and 54 town houses at 820-830 Ferntree Gully Road, Wheelers Hill. The complete planning submission was submitted to council within 6 weeks of engagement.

The design objective was to locate an apartment building to the east of the site which would create a height transition from the neighbouring site, which currently has a planning approval for apartments, to the proposed townhouses to the west.

The main objective was to create a safe environment for families and children by separating the vehicle circulation on the lower ground level from the central pedestrian walkway. The aim was to maintain the boulevard field, characteristic to the area. The building materials and external colours are adding modern, earthy touches to the area, yet complying with the neighbourhood character. Metal cladding in various shades of grey combined with white render and timber composite cladding give the townhouses a contemporary feel and the materials are repeated in the apartment façade to keep the development consistent.

Adding to the leafy boulevard character of the area are the new proposed canopy trees and landscaped gardens and playgrounds.
